to be distributed in this manner in order to comply with distribution

Patches and Plug-Ins
 (Disc 1) (1998).iso/images/patches.gif) Programs
are constantly being developed by software companies, whether it's adding
new features that were missing or fixing 'undocumented features' (a.k.a.
bugs) that have been discovered. Often the company will release the update
as a patch that will enable users to update their software without having
to re-install a complete new program. Unfortunately these patches can
often be quite large and if they are only available as an Internet download,
it may cost you quite a lot to keep your programs up to date. If these
patches add new features, then this can be a real shame - you may not
even find out about the patch if you don't trawl the Internet frequently.
